OUR MISSION

“Pieces sketched in our New York studio, made by skilled hands around the world, drawn from the natural world. Made in pursuit of beauty.”

Laine + Alliage is a New York studio led by artist Tania Leipold. Our work is built on two commitments.

The first is to the places and people the work draws from. We design pieces inspired by the natural world, and we believe that this inspiration carries a responsibility: to work in close partnership with skilled artisans around the world, to support their communities, and to protect the land they live with. Our collaborations with weavers in Nepal, fabric mills in Italy, and woodcarvers in the Amazon are built on this foundation.

The second is to the homes the work enters. We believe a thoughtfully designed, hand-made piece carries something a mass-produced object cannot: the trace of the hand, the place, and the time it took to make. Every piece is sketched in the studio, made one at a time, and shaped with care for where it will live.

The studio's work is a quiet exchange between these two commitments: what we receive from the world, and what we offer back to it.
